I was researching a fare on the American Airlines website, and found it was about $400 more than booking the same flights and dates on SmartFares.com or Momondo.com (two "discount" airfare sites). Do I risk not being able to earn miles on American Airlines if I buy from those sites? One of these websites only identifies the airline as a "Major Carrier", but it's the same flights as the American Airlines ones so I assume it's on American. Post a Comment
If you can save almost half the price, wouldn't that be worth not earning frequent flier miles? Even if you are missing out on earning thousands of miles, it wouldn't be enough to outweigh several hundred dollars off the price of a ticket. by Ron on Tuesday, January 24, 2012
Same story here. "M" class fares with a Delta partner were not eligible for Skymiles point. Too bad; it was lots of miles. by ceebee on Friday, January 20, 2012
Definitely be aware. I booked a great flight via Vayama a few months ago for a last minute EWR/LHR trip on Virgin America (it was $1,700 on Virgin and $750 on Vayama), but I couldn't get my Continental miles as it was in the wrong class of ticket. by BEF0626 on Friday, January 20, 2012
