I bought my ticket through Expedia. I was not able to pick my seat, so I immediately called Delta to confirm that, indeed, there was a seat for me. Delta confirmed. At IAD, I was told that there was a seat for me, but the agent said the computer would not let her confirm it. When we got to JFK, I and 5 other people were bumped. I was traveling with 2 other people who did not know Venice. It was a nightmare for them, because I had the hotel information and directions. It was a nightmare for me because I had to be rerouted through Rome, and arrived exhausted, 10 hours late. I missed an entire day in Venice. My luggage was lost. Apparently Delta bumps a lot. I will never book Delta again. It ruined my vacation.
