The flight itself was OK, but teh seating on UAL's (and most likley other airlines too) was awful. You sit down and the individual in front of you jams his/her seat back. It is all but impossible to get out of your seat when that occurs. Frankly, next time we go to the west coast, I'm looking at taking a train. Granted it'll take a day longer, but it ought to be a whole lot more comfortable and it should have a much nicer view too.

I was unable to print the boarding passes at home after checking in. Then I had issues at the Untied Kiosk at IAD so I woulnd up having to go to the check in counter. What is the sense of having all this electronic wizardry if it doewn't work when you need it?

Excellent flights ~ smooth, friendly. We had quite a few Naval Academy juniors on board, dressed in their whites, on their way to one-month summer training in SD. The pilot on the first leg announced their presence, and they got an enthusiastic ovation from the other passengers for their service. I appreciated that the pilot also suggested that the other passengers allow them to debark the aircraft first in LV. Way to go, Southwest Airlines!

Very very cramped legroom. Most limited I had experienced in a very long time. Service in the cabin and luggage handling were generally good. Available snacks were good in terms of quality and variety of offerings.

Would have liked to have seen a good movie, but did not have the opportunity to do so.

The flight was great - good landings, attentive crew. The United termianl at Dulles is terrible. Security for their flights appears to be in lower dungeons. If walking not's your thing - a bus ride out to the terminal and then more walking it's a longand ugly. Dirty- decrepit describes their terminal. Few choices of eateries and what is there is limited(Dunkin donuts being one of the few) with no place to sit and have a cup of coffee or eat anywhere near most of the gates . Not the place you want to have to wait for a connection or your flight. Hole in the ladies room wall (obviously old and never repaired)overalal, just awful. If you fly United, try NOT to fly out of Dulles.
