Air Canada is simply not enforcing carry-on rules re: size and number of items. In a smaller plane like the E-90, this means long delay in stowing the bags on boarding and deplaning, with flight attendants taking larger pieces from one end of plane to other.Also clearly heavier pieces are being stowed overhead, not under seats (because they are too large to fit there) as per stated policy. This is a hazard should the overhead bin open accidentally because of turbulence or improper closure. Enforce the rules!
I also object to the airline policy of serving free beverage only, no snacks, on longer flights where food is for sale. I did not wish to buy a meal, but on a 4.5 hr. flight YOW-YVR, it was annoying not to get my corn chip bag, whereas I did get it on YYC-YVR 1 hr flight because no food for sale on that short flight.
