The Flight was fine. The people are getting stupid. As long as Delta and the others are nickel and diming customers to death the least customers could do is buy suitcases that fit and learn how to put them in the overhead compartments. Maybe there should be a class ahead of time to teach people how to count bags and how not to bring there dogs on. Please forward to Delta employees to thank the NWA employees for the bonuses the recieved on the backs ov the the NWA employees" concessions. MSP had a much better airline with NWA

United cancelled our flight home due to snow, but didn't bother to alert us by email or phone. We didn't find out until we tried to check in online. They didn't find alternate arrangements and our only option was to call customer service. After being on hold for 40 minutes, they said the earliest available flight was in 2 days! Here's my hint - always throw a fit at unreasonable options. Another 35 min later and we were booked on US Air to go from Minneapolis to Philly, then home to Seattle. It took 11 hours, but we got home on our target date.

Some flights are code share with Alaska. This was one of them. In booking the flight, the Delta mask suggests that for Elite flyers, upgrades are/are not available and, baggage fees do not apply. Again, this is for Elite flyers. However, when checking in with Alaska Airlines for a Delta booked flight, their agents advise that no reciprocity exists. Some Delta agents, even at Corporate, advise otherwise. However, Alaska is adamant, and when pressed, Delta Customer Service advises that the reciprocity doesn't exist (yet). One should be extra careful when booking a code share flight and get assurances in writing. It is embarrassing to be told one thing and finding out it isn't true. Flyers deserve better and especially Elite flyers. On the plus side, Delta does recognize and honor and confusion, misrepresentations within reason. Hopefully, the issue will be resolved soon.

The flights went smoothly, with a very congenial flight crew.

On the return we were delayed due to weather and a medical emergency, but the captain kept us informed.

Southwest crews members were upbeat and friendly. The seats were roomier than most. The flights all arrived early. Only complaint was an agent in Chicago who was not professional, lacked information, and was unwilling to help. My Uncle also had a complaint about his agent in Chicago - and on Southwest - so I think the problem is in the place not the airlines.

Don't bother to check a bag since they will check them for free after they have run out of overhead compartment space. I felt that I wasted money by trying to be compliant and checking a bag that was slightly over sized.

I had a crummy seat assignment - last minute change to my flight date - and the gate attendant fixed me up with the best seat in the house !! I really appreciated that.

Though a minor complaint, seats could only be selected online within 24 hours of the flight AND not less than 6 hours before the flight. The only other option was to accept the seat given to you at check-in or for a charge, you may select a seat when booking the flight (if more than 24 hours ahead of time). I'm not sure what the reasoning is for this. Otherwise, the flight experience was on par with most other airlines I've flown.

I asked to upgrade to first class at checkin. I was charged $60 to check two bags even though I upgraded to first class. I think Delta owes me $60. Particularly since they moved several people from coach to first class after the door was closed. Those people did not have to pay to be upgraded.
