In spite of return flight being cancelled, due to the BIG STORM/BLIZZARD at the end of January, and having to scramble to find a way home in less than 2 extra days (and 2 hotel charges!!), I only had to stay one extra night and then the alternate flight home was fine.

The trip was very good. The flight attendants were wonderful - kind and thoughtful. The pilot kept the passengers informed. Flying is such a hassle, but American Airlines did a fine job.

Trip went fine considering the personal business I had to conduct. Just seeing old friends was worth it after so many years.

This was the first time we flew Delta, and I had read all of the negative comments, but we had no problems. I printed our boarding passes in advance, so the only line we had to stand in was the security line, which was really long and slow at SNA. It was much better in PHL. We flew through ATL on the way back and through Detroit on the way home, and we had ample time to get something to eat and get to our gate. We travel when I can find a bargain fare, and this was the lowest I could find for this route. One more negative: SNA has a huge flight arrival sign at the entrance to the concourse, but it only shows 10-15% of the actual flights--I stood there getting upset until someone sent us on our way to find a complete departure list. Why even bother with something that is so incomplete?

I don't believe that we have flown Delta before, but we are bargain travelers and the deal I found, SNA-PHL, was with them. We live in Orange County and there are almost never good deals out of SNA, so I jumped right on this one. I pre-printed our boarding passes, so the only people we dealt with were the gate agents and the flight attendants, and they were all pleasant and polite. Because of the charge for checked bags, we didn't check any, but the gate agent said that we had too many pieces and we ended up checking our roll-aboard, but there was no charge. In PHL they announced that it would be a full flight and asked people to volunteer to check bags, again with no charge. If the price was right, I'd travel with them again.
