My round trip nonstop trip was hampered by the lack of room and I am under 5ft 2 and thin! On the return trip, I had to literally sit on a lap to get out to use the restroom at 3AM. Air NZ needs to improve on removing the meal trays faster as you are trapped under the tray for well more than an hour, although the food was quite nice. I usually have an aisle seat, but couldn't get one for the return. A lot of good movies to watch, which helped considering no sleep possible due to my cramped condition.

I was traveling by myself with my 10 week old baby. Air NZ were simply amazing and provided first class service.

We flew out of SFO on Dec. 25th, 2009. Flight was booked on Economy, but were offered a cheap upgrade to Premium Economy at the airport. Well worth the extra cost - fantastic food, service, and comfort. All in all the best trans-Pacific flight we've done, and we do a lot of these! I'm a Kiwi, so am a bit biased, but have flown on a lot of different carriers, and Air New Zealand is definitely one of the better ones for long haul flights.

Air NZ is best airline to use when flying to New Zealand. They haave wonderful food and love listening to all the accents and best audio visual around.

Did a round trip ANZ US$399 ($483w/tax) SFO-AKL. Outbound on 23May10. Great flight only about 40% full. Comfortable and in flight service outstanding.
Return on sold out 777. Begged for an aisle seat. I had the middle of the middle in row 52. Config is 3-3-3, so the middle is only one seat from the aisle. Check in agent in AKL moved me to a window saying "I got you a better seat". What a prison! I hated that flight. Thank god for the fabulous personal video entertainment...I watched 7 episodes of "Glee". I hesitate to complain much as the fare of US$399 ($483 w/tax) RT was crazy cheap! ANZ still kicks United's rear!
