A very pleasant experience both ways. On the flight from Pittsburgh to San Diego the crew was very entertaining, even telling us their ages. They joked and we played games and it helped pass the time. The older hostess (59) took time to talk and relate to us.

“Going with your website puts people next to, or near the plane's engines!”

It was terrible. Continental put me next to the engines and I couldn't even hear the speakers on the television with the headsets on. Their so-called "available seats" on Continental was designed in advance to give you a bad seat, even though the plane only had one in three people on the jet between Pittsburgh and Houston! And when I asked the attendant if I could go sit in the completely empty front 6 seats behind the first class, he said, "No". He wouldn't even let me get away from the engines. Then on the flight from Houston, it was full and I found myself right next to the engines again! I read that sitting near those engines destroys your hearing. I won't be doing that to myself again! Even with an incredible amount of seats available on that one flight, you still only have bad sits from which to choose, if you use your website. Two airlines involved. First, United, then Continental,Aug. 24.
