“Basically a typical flying experience. Not bad.”
Flight from Portland to Phoenix

As always, checking in in Portland was quick and easy. Actually the entire flight was pretty much a typical flying experience. I hadn't ever flown Delta and was a bit surprised how disorganized things seemed every step of the way, but there was nothing particularly bad and we got where we needed to be on time, so overall it was ok.
The major specific complaint I had was that despite selecting our seats for the trip when I booked the flights, every single leg of the trip was changed. Four of us traveled together and I had seated us by couples, in front of each other. On each flight, we had been shifted so three of us had seats together and the other person was across the aisle -- except for the two legs in smaller planes, where "across the aisle" was staggered so one person had to sit by themselves with strangers. I feel that if I am given the choice to select seats, that selection should stick...and if it has to be changed for some reason, a notification should be sent so I can make adjustments while there are still other seats available on the plane.
