Pittsburgh has a decent amount of security scanners and I did not have to wait overly long until I was able to get through to the terminal.
My 5:30 PM flight from Pittsburgh to Houston was delayed (do not know the reason for the delay), so I missed my connection to Sacramento. Myself and a few other passengers were given lodging, shuttle, and food vouchers in Houston. We were put up in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Houston. The flight itself was fine...aisle seat gave me enough room without feeling too cramped.
The next morning, I did NOT have a good experience at the Houston airport. Extremely long, slow security lines; disrespectful security personnel; nearly missed my flight due to the long wait. Once I got through security, I had to hoof it to the end of the terminal for my gate, only to discover the gate had been changed since the night before. I had to ask the staff to call ahead to the new gate to see if they'd hold the plane for me, since I was on my way to a funeral and I HAD to make that flight. The new gate was at the very end of the OTHER terminal...I passed several of those courtesy carts used to ferry passengers, and when I stopped at one to request a ride, out of breath, frazzled, and almost in tears, the employees were rude/uncaring and no one would help me. Four employees were sitting on this cart chatting, and not a single one of them got up off the cart to see what I needed or otherwise help me in any way.
In the future, I will do whatever I have to in order to avoid this airport!
Service to and from Sacramento was lovely. Service from Houston to Pittsburgh was tolerable, but I do not recommend a center seat if it can be avoided. I
