First and last time to fly on US airways. We upgraded to first class which gave us some leg room and a meal. No in flight entertainment of any kind which made our over four hour flight seem even longer.

Let me preface this with the comment that I have circumnavigated the globe four times now. I have flown most airlines and most types of aircraft so I pretty well know what to expect when travelling economy. I know what I'm getting and with no unrealistic expectations I usually arrive at my destination in relatively good spirits.

However on this flight I encountered one of the most terse, abrupt and basically unprofessional male flight attendants that I have ever had the misfortune of flying with. His manner was one of feigned tolerance, and his treatment of the passengers that I could witness was one of snide disdain rather than service delivery. I am aware that we all tend to have a bad day at some point in our routine but this fellow went far beyond that. He bordered on rudeness to the point that I would seriously seek another carrier rather than have to put up with his antics again.

Too many good features make Southwest irresistible

Three reasons make travel on Southwest compelling: 1. the ability to exchange flights without financial penalty. 2. Two free bags. 3. Pleasant personnel nearly all the time.

Southwest used to be the least expensive option on the market and are generally fairly competitive, but they can be a bit more pricey than some online companies. I miss their excellent sales. They exist, but are harder to find unless one knows travel dates several months ahead of time.

I don't mind signing in 24 hours ahead to get a number for seat selection by place in line. It is getting more difficult to get a good place in line, however, because they are now charging extra for the privilege. I do understand their need to make a profit. Most of the time, flight personnel are pleasant, enjoyable, thoughtful people. In all the years we have flown Southwest, we have only had one somewhat high-strung individual in charge of the service. She would have been fine in another capacity in the company. More often, they are a creative, humorous, fun-loving lot who seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs. I heartily recommend travel on Southwest Airlines.

Philly check in was fine. Seattle check in was a DISASTER....not enough experienced people, short on staff, very disorganized, We, & others, also, were not asked for ID. BAD BAD BAD!

this was the first time i've flown continental, and i generally try to get non stop flights. this was overall a good experience. representatives were helpful and pleasant. my connection went smoothly despite only 50 min between flights. i would definitely fly continental again.

this flight was way too long for US Air to not offer any snacks or even a movie or radio station in the seats to plug your headphones in to. I don't expect much when I fly but for a 6+ hour flight do something to make the experience a little more bearable for passengers.
