the flight out to san francisco was great - partly because a lower number of passengers than were expected checked in and i ended up with a row to myself part of the way. also, the gate agent looked out for me and changed me to a seat that had only two instead of three (that happened both directions). the seats on this flight (us air) were somehow better than the usual delta seats. i find the seats on airlines to be frustratingly abysmally horrible; designed for six foot men, they put one's body in a contorted shape if you sit following the shape of the seat. this almost always sucks but today it felt different. the in flight service was just fine. i brought my own food in a seperate bag and noone mentioned it. it was cold and there was nothing to be done about that - i thought i had brought enough clothing. i wasn't about to PURCHASE one of their dinky 'blankets'.

on the return flight i entered the plane and was told that there were no more compartments so carry ons would have to be checked. i didn't really think i had an option so even though i had very very very expensive camera in the bag i gave it to them. moments later i thought i should mention it to them just so i would be on the record in case any thing happened to it and they were almost sarcastic to me saying it was a too late and there was nothing they could do. they didn't ask me anything, just assumed something about why i mentioned it to them. they carried on about people bringing too much on the plane and that's why they had to check carry ons but hey, i wasn't the one who brought too much and isnt' it their job to watch for that if its going to be a problem? i did find a couple of empty overhead compartments on the way to my seat and that

    was aggravating.

flying with delta is always a great experience. for instance, the cabin is air conditioned, the seats are padded and what's more they even have toilets in the back of the plane.
