It was a typical Continental Europe flight in Economy. Plane clean, but worn.

Seats mightily uncomfortable--basic cattle car seating, with tight seats and as many as the 767 could hold. Food is the usual starch feast. The cabin staff were excellent, though. The real nightmare was check-in at Newark in the elite stations. Since when does an entire group of high school students flying together (at least 20 of them) all have elite status? Three counters to check them in--on taken over by Business First in the regular elite line--two left for all of us that have been loyal customers. Badly managed by the red coat on duty, not to mention the surly ground staff person that gripped because we weren't in line properly. Too few TSA agents at our set of gates. I'm thinking about switching loyalty programs, but that's hard because Newark is a Continental hub. I can't see how the merger will help anything there.

It also raises the question about whether cabin staff should ask passengers to put their seats upright for meals. The woman in front of me kept hers at maximum recline for the whole trip. I'm starting to think about no longer taking non-stops to Europe just so I can get free of the cabin problems.
