traveling with a 1yr old on a connecting flight. Working with delta staff to try and get any help, or information was the worst. They should be called the airline that pass off to others rather then try to help. I did my research printed out a map of the airport, got my arrival and departure gates to understand the detroit airport and the terminals I would be going to. I had under an hour for connection from a large flight to a small commuter flight in another terminal. I knew I needed help and asked for a cart to take me. I was passed off from worker to worker. Then my stroller did not come up at the gate. finally one of the captains had to go and get it. Then the gate agent did not have the correct information for my gate and did not have any access for carts. I had to run full out dragging my luggage and my baby four elevators, several moving stairwells, a tunnel and when I arrived I missed my flight by 3 mins. No one called ahead to say there would be passengers comming in late due to first their delay leaving Minneapolis, and second there delay in retriving my cart. I ended up spending 4 hrs in the airport with no where to go with a baby. She was tired of being confined and wanted to run around there was no where was safe. I approched a supervisor told her my problems and asked if there was somewhere to go with a baby. She tried but was told I could not use any of the areas such as lounges or where the unacommpained children wait because I was an adult. I ended up in a family rest room where I could put her down and try to relax for a while. No one took responsibility for this. I missed meetings, and events I had planned for weeks. I will never fly Delta unless I have to!!!~!! When northwest was out of minnesota at least the employees tried to help and did not look like they were over worked and under paid. The staff of delta is unhappy, unfriendly, and unworthy of my business.
