I've flown twice with them, will do again, better than United, better than BA. If you arrive more than 3 hours before your flight, they will accommodate you with the seats you need. Plenty of leg room and great film selection, plug-ins to recharge Iphones, PSPs etc..., decent food. Only issue I have: no online check-in, really a drag.

I had zero expectations when boarding this flight to London, only because I had never flown BA before, and the last time I flew to London I had flown Virgin which was okay but the seats were shockingly cramped. But this flight on British Airways was far and away a much more superior experience. The seats were roomy and comfortable, the food was good, check in was fine and everything was on time. I would not hesitate to use British Airways again.

The seats are so tightly crushed together that, if someone with a window seat needs to use the toilet, she has to ask the two strangers next to her to please wake up and get up out of their seats so that she can get to the aisle. That is really embarrassing, especially if the men in those adjoining seats don't speak English and she doesn't speak theirs.

Tea was good. Food was good. Nice of BA to give us complimentary wine with meals. All that water and juice we were offered during the flight added to my earlier discomfort, but were a good way to keep hydrated.

No one ever told me how to become a frequent flyer or showed me how to accrue air miles.

Nice crew, mediocre food on the outbound but much better on the return. The usual great selection of movies to London but an older plane for the return journey and no video on demand. Checked in online and it was very easy. Flight attendants are exceptionally nice. Bit of a security problem before take-off but the crew kept us informed and despite a delay of at least one hour we landed in L.A. 15 minutes early. Unfortunately there were 4 other planes landing and it was chaos in immigration especially in the "US Citizens" line. All in all I will always recommend Virgin.

The service was organized and efficient. The attendents were friendly and helpful. We were given different meal items throughout the flight, plus a pillow, blanket and earphones. The entertainment options were excellent. Overall, for such a long flight, it was very nice.

I paid for my ticket and wanted to use my airline milage to upgrade. I didn't get the upgrade and when I went through the business cabin I saw two empty seats............and they showed no signs of use when I exited the plane either. It was an overnight flight and I really could have used the upgrade! Can't figure out why they would leave seats unused if there were people like me that was willing to use milage + a fee to upgrade.

The only complaint I have is that we had our seats selected. Mine was asile my husband's a window. We checked in 3 hrs before boarding and my husband ended up in a middle seat. (very upset) We were unable to check in online so consequently they gave away our preassigned seats. What's the use of getting your seats preassigned if they are going to give them away???

The flight was extremely long about 23 hours in total but the stop over was excellent, I love how the airport in Canada had sofa seats for waiting passengers, that made all the difference while waiting 11 hours to catch the next flight.

My rating is based on what I expect from long-haul first class. Not only is American's online and self check-in are the worst I've experienced, i.e., useless, but the food in economy on the return trip was better than that in first outbound. The major US carriers remain on their mission to self-destruct.

Great flight - Decent food - Served us dinner, a snack, ice cream, sandwich + drinks (wine, beer, soft drinks, etc.) during our 10 hr. flight, so we had plenty to eat. Only bad thing is that my husband did not get his window seat. Did not have a computer available so could not check in online the night before. By the time we got to the airport, all window seats gone even tho we had our seats picked out before we left home in May

I expected a great trip. I asked to be moved to exit row. I had to pay $200/seat. No one even asked if I was able. The seat was supposed to recline and didnt. The seat plug for the media was plugged, and condensation dripped on my husband the whole flight.

Return flight: Nite before we called to confirm and went to the airport (2 hrs before) to find out that they had given away our seats and expected us to all take center centers on the flight. Their customer service answer was. "What are you complaining about?? you have a seat." Bad food, surley service NEVER,EVER AGAIN!!!I'll swim first!!!.

What a wonderful experience. Loved the bag of items they gave you for the flight. Toothbrush and toothpaste, sleep mask, ink pen...the little things that made an othewise ordinary flight special.

Did the online check in. Had a friend speed to LAX to get me there on time. Stumbled over the curb and into the terminal where I'm greeted by a VA rep who says, "Have you been informed the flight is delayed by two hours because of a late arriving aircraft from

London?" Uh, no. I wish VA had the system that other carriers have where they text and/or email passengers to let them know of delayed departures. Note to self: check VA website prior to leaving the house to see if arriving flight is on schedule or not.

Had plenty of time to do the bag drop and hang out in T2 where I met some pretty cool people. Of course, a few were stressed because they would end up missing their connecting flights at Heathrow, but overall, a good time was had by all.

As for the flight itself, it was smooth and we made up time in the air so weren't as late as I thought we'd be. Like clockwork, as soon as drinks are served, we hit turbulence (why do they do cocktail service when we're flying over Red Rocks?). You just come to expect these things over time. Love watching the in-flight entertainment. Awesome crew and service. No complaints there (on my return flight, however...).

For the past nine years, I've flown VA three or four times a year. There have been some instances in the past few years where the flight attendants seemed like they resented their work, the ground staff were unfriendly and I felt like I was flying the other British carrier. Glad to see the service is back to normal standards.
