Wife and I are regular fliers to the Islands during our anniversary of November. We usually stay into December. Hawaiian is the only airline we now use. United OK, cramped. Delta, ditto. TWA used to be decent, now history as United, and Continental was OK. Enjoy the experience with Hawaiian Air, the help available, the music and overall experience on board.

Food is sufficient not what it used to be 4-5 yrs. ago. Hawaiian is the best (I forget the hawaiian word to that).

I have flown on Delta, Hawaiian airlines and soon this next month American Airlines to the Hawaiian islands. I am the type to do tons of research before my trips and read all the reviews. I have read reviews to places I have already gone just to see how people review them and I have to say, there are just going to be people who view the glass half full all the time and people who view the glass half empty! I think sometimes the issues people have are brought upon themselves and they will not be happy no matter how the trip turns out. They will always find something to complain about. Helpful reviews are when people tell you tips for short cuts or ways the airline helped you when something went wrong. We ALL know how it is to fly these days, unless you are paying first class, just expect the seats to smaller than your car (honestly I think many today are just overweight so the seats haven't gotten smaller it's us that have gotten bigger, and if you HAVE to be entertained on the trip, I suggest you bring your own so you don't have to complain about the sound or selection.

If anyone can give advice on the LAX Admirals club, if it is worth buying for this trip from LAX to HNL, I would appreciate the feed back. Mahalo!

I was very pleased with Hawaiian Air. The plane was new. Every seat had a screen, which was great for my young children. The interior of the plane is a similar design to Virgin America planes. Hawaiian Air also has exclusive deals/discounts on their web site. I will definitely be using Hawaiian Air again!

We flew Hawaiian because they had the lowest airfare, but it turns out that they are way better than United, American or Delta between LA and Honolulu.

The A330 was brand new so it was very quiet even in row 35. The seats were close together, but the flight attendant told everyone to raise their seat backs if they aren't sleeping.

Unlike the major airlines, the flight attendants were young and attentive. On the major airlines, Hawaii is given to the most senior pilots and flight attendants so they are burned out and have a bad attitude.

My round-trip, Delta flights, LAX-HNL, were very good. The flight attendants were friendly, helpful, and gave everyone a pillow and a blanket for comfort on the 5 1/2 hr. flights. I watched a movie, a TV show, ate the lunch I brought along, read and snoozed abit. The planes were very large, so it was easy to move around the aisles. Good, on time landings.

The inbound flight was late from Minneapolis/St. Paul which caused our outbound flight to be a tight turn at the gate. Traveling with 5 people, there was no audio or video available on 5hr+ flt. They knew coming in and did not attempt to service that aspect of the aircraft. After spending more than 3k for the tickets, I would expect some other sort of acknowledgment by the airline for basic service provided by most other similar carriers. Unfortunately, on the return trip...same thing happened to 2 of our 5 tickets. No audio, no visual...full flight so no seat change available.

Delta flight from LAX to HNL was delayed about an hour. Cabin crew had to run through several arm and lock doo drills before we took off. Finally, we were informed that the reason for the false starts was the passenger count did not reconcile with what was in the computer. The flight attendant called for all non-revenue passengers to de-board the plane with their belongings. I was surprised by the number of people that had to get off. One-by-one, they were allowed to get back on and we were able to depart. I can understand now why air fares need to be high if quite a few of those traveling are doing so on perks.

Our flight on Continental was great.....purchasing the tickets, not so much.....I was not happy with Expedia and probably will not use them again. I confirmed and paid for my tickets because the near perfect itinerary came up, only to find out later, the airline for the second leg of our trip was not a partner, even though it showed up on the screen.

The whole trip became very inconvenient for people picking us up and staying with. And we were forced to pay a higher price because of Expedia's

    glitch.

The flight and trip went very well but I was not happy with my experience with Expedia. I picked my airline and flight times and got a confirmation,

only to find out Expedia could not complete our trip because They said Continental was not affiliated with Mesa Airlines which showed on the screen. We ended up having to pay more and take an inconvenient second leg of our trip. They were very unaccomodating and nasty, even though it was not our fault. I will probably not use Expedia again.....

Nice, smooth flight on the way to Honolulu... some more turbulence on the way back, but since airlines can't control the weather, can't really hold it against 'em.

The Hawaiian airline flight attendant were very friendly. I was surprised to hear that we were getting an in-flight meal with our economy seating. Both meals coming and going were served with a dessert as well. I have always flown economy class and this was the best airline I have been on so far. When I return to Hawaii for another trip I will definitely fly Hawaiian Airlines.

The whole experience was worse than any discount airline. While they repeatedly try to dig into your pocket and won't provide service unless you pay extra - in-seat entertainment - fee, food fee, bags fee. The aisles were narrow and the seats did not move except a token 2 inches.

American will be low on my list for travel. Price was the determining factor, and based upon recent flights, they rank low. On time was the only good rating. Seating selection in advance was poor.

Too many carry ons per passenger due to the fees for checked bags. They would be better served for departure ease if they allowed one checked bag, eliminating overhead cramming and slow boarding.

Best part was Admirals Club at LAX. HNL location was far far from gate and although the staff was friendly (1) not worth the walk. LAX had food for purchase and a few snacks and beverages. Nice staff at both Admirals Clubs.

A new Airbus, attendants didn't even know how to turn the overhead light on, service pretty much nil, and $15 to watch a movie, music video or listen to music. The one plus was the legroom in the bulkhead seats directly behind first class. Oh, and 55 minutes before the baggage made it to the carosel. Regular HA flyers, but next trip will be with anothe carrier.

New airbus was clean and decor is nice. They still have free meal service in coach so that's a plus. Also pillow & blanket free. All flights were on time.

    Seats are still close together.

Plane landed in one terminal in Honolulu and we had to walk waaaaay over to the other terminal for our bags.

1st Class upgrade was waste of our money. The entertainment unit did not work on either of our 2 seats on both way of our round trip. Seats were small and not comfortable, did not recline well. We liked the 1st class on larger planes they used before on flights to Hawaii. We fly Continental 8-10x/year but we noticed the planes and service is going down. We will see how the merger with United turns out. We never liked United because of their rude and non caring attitude.

After traveling with several airlines I always come back to fly with Delta. Their service is wonderful. My family and I enjoy flying with Delta since they provide your own small tv screen. Our flights arrive sooner than anticipated.

Because of E-tickets...didn't have assinged seating for the 8 of us, at the check in desk, I was told that they would open a little later and then would call me over. This same person as he was leaving prior to opening up the desk for passangers, came to where we were seating and handed me the 8 boarding passes and told me to go and get seated first due to my mom's age and my brother's inability to stand for too long. I thought this was excellent customer service in handling the boarding passes. The flight was uneventful.

Flight cancelled, placed on MUCH later flight due to mechanical problem

Flight was cancelled. I was told by someone who flies frequently that this is a common tactic. There were three cancelled flights in the terminal where we waited on our United flight.

I have flown Southwest many, many, many times and have had one delayed flight for mechanical issues. It was not cancelled.

What appears to be happening is that if a flight is not full, they will cancel it and fill the later flight. It screwed up a full day of our vacation (which cost us over 1000 dollars a day), but they were kind enough to give us a $150 voucher to fly their lousy airline again. In flight services was good, though, for a price (you have to buy meals and snacks now).

Flight was full (in fact, over-booked). Outbound flight had no sound for movie or music in my rear section. Still wish they would serve some kind of meal.

But otherwise smooth, and reasonable price.

The flight to Hnl was slightly delayed for whatever reason. However, I prefer peace of mind that the plane was safe and clean. The flight attendants on this trip were pleasant and accommodating.

Your daily updates on airfares are very much appreciated and useful. I recommend your website to family and friends.

Check-in was hectic as usual. The plane itself provided good legroom in coach. There was a monitor behind each seat which provided a selection of movies, tv shows, and games.

While the coach seats were the most comfortable I have experienced in this class, the first class section seemed below average in comparison to other Delta flights.

We were able to upgrade to first class when we checked in online. It is a little pricey to do this, but so worthwhile for a longer flight. The service was excellent, as was the food choices and beverages. My husband is disabled, so the extra leg room really helped him, too.
