Everything about Virgin America from check in to arrival was wonderful EXCEPT the seats. They were hard as rocks to sit on for 5 hours (and the 3 people I flew with agreed) and there was really no leg room (and I'm short) I doubt I would take them again except for a short trip.

Most uncomfortable seats and seating I have ever flown on. THEY CHARGE FOR WATER! It is not worth the price.

My wife and I did a round trip LAX-Fll Nov 7-Nov22 for a 14 day Carribean cruise out of FLL. Having a Delta Gold card we did not have to pay for 1 bag each to be checked on either flight. Also having a companion ticket from my Delta card renewal, my wifes fare with taxes was only $131.00. A win - win situation.

Very much liked the interactive screen for music/video choices and the ability to demand order food service. Staff courteous and efficient. Seats with more padding so that you don't feel as though you are sitting on a park bench by flights end. Would definitely fly with Virgin American again.

This was our first experience with Spirit. Our comfort level with them went up and down, but in the end I must say, they are a great airline because of substantial savings flying them. Our Spirit adventure started when we booked with them on-line. We were under the impression that the great price we saw, was the only price, but after putting in a all our pertinent info, every time we hit the continue button, it was asking for more money. The first time was for: which sated you want to buy,a And they gave us three choices, the back, the middle or the front of the plane, with the cheap seats in the back. Then we were asked about checked luggage, and when we answered how many pieces carry-on and how many pieces to be checked in, the continue button too us to how much it was to cost. I would have preferred one price-covers-all. After we booked, I read blogs about Spirit that scared me to death that we had bought tickets from them. Turns out, after all is said and done, the price WAS lower, and the service was excellent. We made sure we would have no need for food during our flight, and each way we bought our water before boarding. We are happy customers, and members of the $9 Club. I love "airfare watchdog"!

Leather seats, good leg room, individual entertainment screens and friendly, efficient inflight crew - that's Virgin America. Excellent flight coupled with a good price make this airline tops.

What a pleasant experience.........the lighting is so soothing, and just loved the computer on back of the seats, especially watching the trip progress and to be able to order food.

The flights themselves were smooth. I arrived at lax 1.5 hrs before my flight thinking this would be plenty of time to check my 1 bag and get to my plane and it turned out to be barely enough time, and this was with electronic checkin. After getting my boarding pass i was in a line to check my bag and had to ask to be put in an expedited line as it was very slow moving and my flight was fast approaching. I was singled out for a pat down and carried my shoes to the gate where i still had to get my seat assignment and made my flight at final boarding. Extremely inefficient and annoying checkin and boarding process. I understand the necessity for security, but most of the workers were lackadaisical in the way they went about there jobs and seemed to enjoy the difficulty there slow pace caused people to barely or probably not make there flight at all.

No more Southwest flights for me from LAX to Miami. First, they fly into Fort Lauderdale, not Miami, so you can add an additional 45 minutes to your commute time. Second, they don't fly non-stop, so add another hour or two or three. Bad weather in Houston delayed flight an additional hour. I'd rather pay a bit more on American and get directly to Miami with no stops or layovers!!

If you haven't tried Virgin America, Do it! Check in service outstanding. New planes, leather seats comfortable with entertainment monitor free. 70 lbs allowable on baggage. If you are flying to Miami ---- don't. Go Virgin to Ft Lauderdale. Wonderful airport, comfortable waiting and less of a TSA hassle. In fact, their TSA gets a big kudo for going out of their way to help my granddaughter not lose her sno-globe (she forgot to pack it in her bag) during check in. Way to go Virgin America and Fort Lauderdale!

My husband and I flew to Ft. Lauderdale in April and returned to LA in May. We had a comfortable flight both ways and enjoyed the experience at a reasonable fare. Check in was a breeze, as was disembarkation. We would definitely fly Virgin American again.
