Lower ...morefares may be available for Spirit's $9 fare club members. This fare only includes one small "personal item" carry-on that does not exceed 16x14x12 inches. Larger carry-on or checked baggage require an additional charge. To get this fare, you must also accept a Spirit assigned seat at check-in and print your boarding pass at home or at an airport kiosk. Choosing a specific seat or using a human airport agent requires additional charges. This fare includes Spirit.com's passenger usage fee and "unintended consequences of D.O.T. regulations fee." These fees range between $18-$38 and can be avoided by booking at an airport counter.
All mandatory taxes/fees are included in the price. Tax-inclusive fare may be a few dollars higher or lower depending on the airport you connect through, if any. Baggage fees, if applicable, and other optional fees are not included.

Continental continues to provide excellent first class service. I was upgraded based on elite status. Several of us talked about the merger, and all are concerned that the level of CO service will sink to the level of United service once the melding is complete in a year.

The flight was good, except for a cat one row up.
Cats should not be allowed in the cabin on any flight. A lady in my row and myself are both extremely allergic to cats.
She took 2 benedryl- I took 3 at take off and another 2 landing- 3 hours later. Still really
affected me.
I would really like a no pets policy on board all flights.

Every time I go to DTW from IAH, I've had to wait a little extra. From DTW to IAH, I've had to wait a long time to get in. Check in at both places were slow. Security wasn't bad at either places. There's more places to eat and to do at DTW while you wait but not much at IAH. Prices at airports are too high considering the airlines are already gouging. I was going to fly out this summer to DTW but the fares were over $500 round trip rather than the usual $220-260. Of course, that's about the time they announced the horrible merger. Prices have gone down, but the baggage fees are ridiculous and now Continental is charging fees for food. How dumb!

On time -- smooth flight. Really no more to tell. Left Detroit on July 25 to Minneapolis and then back to Houston on July 31.

Only down side to this flight was it was a code share with United Airlines (whom I had purchased my ticket through) but was not allows to check in 24hrs in advance via the united website. I needed to use the continental website, however i hade no Continental confirmation number, but a quick call to United solved the problem and all else was good. Props to the Continental flight team (Gate agents, Flight Crew and Especially baggage handlers) who got the flight out of IAH in the midst of a Hurricane/Tropical Storm on a holiday weekend mostly with very minimal delays.
