We really have no complaints at all with our experience with Spirit Airlines. We had only had a couple of months to prepare for this five day trip to Chicago to see my son graduate from Navy bootcamp. So, being on a tight budget..we took a chance with Spirit. Plane took off on time both times. Flight attendants were very friendly and courteous. Seats were small but hey..you can pay more for bigger ones if you want. No problems at all! :)

The plane was full. there were 3 seats in my row. There was an extremly large man in the isle seat A, I had B and another person had C. I sat in C thought the large man in A had bought 2 seats. Well the man that had C came along and sat in my spot. That was ok with me at least I didn't feel sandwiched inbetween two people. I realize very large people have every right to fly, but it makes if very difficult when there are three seat accross. I would like to see all planes with seat 2 on one side and 2 on the other, but if that is not possible I would like to recommend that a large person be seated with the 2 seats area. I also don't think airlines should charge for Direct TV. It should be part of the plane ticket or non at all.

“Airlines have no understanding for tall people”

There was a time when, if you are tall, you could request emergency row seats which accompany taller individuals well. Now, anyone who is willing to fork over an extra (approx) $80 per ride, can sit in these seats. On our flight from Cancun, there were 18 empty seats. All were considered premium and nobody was allowed in those seats without paying that charge. My knees were crammed completely against the seat in front of me sitting directly up, no slouch whatsoever. I did have an aisle seat, but, that helped little. Alas, I guess the only relief I have is to either have 6 inches surgically removed from my legs or pay the premium. It is really not fair that I should have to pay more for the same comfort that a smaller person has in flight. I get really upset when I see a man of 5' and 135lbs sitting in the emergency aisle, while I am crammed into my seat like a sardine, when, he could easily be very comfortable in a regular seat. Something needs to be done. By the way, I am 6'6" and 250lbs. I am flying 3 times a year and, now, dread each flight due to this situation. I believe that anyone over 6' should have first choice at these seats, and, if they must, a little lower charge, then, maybe, the flight would actually be full instead of 18 empty seats. Something really needs to change.
