American Airlines has never given me more than adequate legroom. No more than 1/2 inch between my knees and the seat ahead of me, if I unloaded all the crap in the seatback pocket. Well on this plane they have new seats where the seat bottom moves FORWARD when the seat back reclines. First they removed my 1/2" clearance and my knees are lock solid against the seat in front of me if I sit as far back in the seat as possible. But now that the seat bottom moves forward, I cannot recline the seat back. I am 6'0" so I am not that tall. AA executives should have to fly this round trip to Tokyo and see how many blood clots they can accumulate.

I found that I was able to shorten my stay and leave earlier for home. I called AA the day before and was told that if I showed up at the ticket counter early I would likely get a change for $50 to an earlier flight. Upon arrival at the counter one of the normally rude agents told me it would cost me a total of $484 to move to a flight departing two hours earlier... their usual change fee plus that there wasn't the same flight class available. (Plus $60 for two bags!!) Obviously I sat in the airport for the three hours until my original flight departed.

Upon complaining to AA cust. svc. they offered some flight miles, which decl;ined for the reason that to use them I would have to fly that miserable airline again. Southwest for me!!!
