I have flown Spirit three times now so I now understand that this is not just an one time anomaly! Hands down, Spirit personnel are some of the rudest I have encountered in my over 45 years traveling on airplanes. The stewardess on the first leg of this DFW/LGA flight acted as though she was doing us a favor by responding to a request. My advice is "this is your job" so if you don't like it, find another! The same held true for the flight back. The service is notoriously bad. I left the plane to get something to eat in the Chicago airport, I specifically asked the agent at the desk if I had enough time to do that and she assured me I did (this after overhearing her speaking rudely to a customer asking about a flight). When I got back the plane was already boarding and If I had ventured any further into the airport I could have missed my flight! I realize the fares are inexpensive however they aren't so cheap after you add in the baggage fees and any seat selection made prior to boarding. I ended up paying $401 RT for the ticket which isn't really a bargain given what other airlines are offering that don't make stops or that have seats that recline and enough space to not get a leg cramp! I joined the $9 Club but so far I haven't seen that much value for this perk.

I was expecting the seats to be cramped but 29 inch pitch, was pretty bad. I am a 6.2" man and flying on Spirit Airlines was not a thrill. The aircraft was very dirty, particularly the leather seats. I believe Spirit Airlines turns around their airplanes in the shortest amount of time possible, so they cut the cleaning process to virtually non-existing. We had a lay over in Chicago for 35 minutes, which turned out to be about 5 hours due to the bad weather in New York. On the way back the agent at the gate in New York gave me an exit seat (upon request) without any additional charge. This is the reason why I rated 5 the check in experience. I'd fly them again only if the price is $75 or cheaper than the legacy carriers. Packing very light was a must to avoid the astronomical charge for the carry on bag.

Morning flight was cancelled. Did not get out of DFW until 6:30 pm. Arrived in New York at 11:30 pm so missed out entire day of our tours. Thanks American, never again.

My flight was canceled, no one bothered to let anyone know over the intercom we instead found out from other passengers. I did get the info from someone at the gate to call AA instead of standing in line and thank goodness, they had rebooked me on a flight leaving in 20 min from another terminal! so the non stop I paid for turned into a flight to Fayetville AR.

Very Pleasant. The crew was kind and attentive crew. The best part was that the flight was on time! Baggage wait time was a little long.

We were on-time or early for all arrivals and departed very close to on-time. My trip went without a hitch and that doesn't happen very often. I credit US Airways!!! I haven't flown with them for quite some time but will definitely book my travel with them whenever I can.

Gate attendants were borderline rude. Flight attendants were oblivious. I just need to find another carrier to fly next time. American is not the one.

Air Tran has some of the most friendly staff I've ever experienced on an airline. And they still give free cookies/crackers! On time flights and courteous staff...I highly recommend. The only thing keeping this from a 5, is that the plane was a little cramped, but for the price, no problemo!!!

The original aircraft developed a problem with the oxygen sensor. After a 90-minute delay a replacement aircraft (MD-80) was brought to another gate. After boarding, the Captain learned that the auto pilot was inoperable. Deplane (again) and wait for another gate assignment. American Airlines decided to use an inbound plane, 60 minutes out of DFW. No one thought to call catering to make sure the meal and snacks were ready. By the time we boarded, another two hours later, there was NO water, food, snacks, ice, glasses/cups -- nothing on the aircraft. Because American experienced not one, but two equipment malfunctions on two different aircraft, the delay resulted in our arriving after LGA closed for the night. We were forced to fly into EWR, arriving four (4) hours behind schedule. A van to LGA put us at our original destination (LGA)at 5:00 a.m. Most of us did not arrive home in time to go to work. The whole affair was a nightmare, a result of total mismanagement by American. Inexcusable. I will be flying less!

Departed late, missed connection in Atlanta. Delayed about 3 or 4 hours. Had to change appointment in New York. Return connection in Atlanta delayed for a couple of hours.
