“Better than what I expected for holiday travel”

Check in went smoothly. Boarding started about 10 minutes early! We departed on time. Could not understand the speaker system. The seat was uncomfortable for me, but was probably OK for others without a lower back problem

The check-in was super easy and fast. The way in which they seated us took way less time than any other airline I've ever flown. The flight attendants were very courteous, and the flight got in 30 minutes early! Overall, a great experience!

Our outgoing flight was cramped, but safe with no delays. That is the most important thing. Our transfer in Seattle went smoothly and we only had to transfer to the gate right next to the one we came in from. Wish they would show better FAMILY movies and have some kind of snack, but there was none for such a long flight. The return trip was more comfortable because I paid for the extra leg room at $69 for two seats. I think it was worth it. Our layover in Seattle was nearly three hours and their terminal is quite nice, but again not a particularly good movie and no snacks on the way back to Chicago.

I flew back to Portland from Chicago on Alaska Air 5/28/10, and the crew was absolutely amazing! The pilot made jokes over the intercom, and the flight attendants were personable and very attentive. They kept the pilots humor going in the cabin, and made everyone have a great time. I even got a beverage at no charge. It really made the flight go quickly, and very comfortably. An engaged flight crew really makes a big difference!
