On a trip from Chicago to Rome I experienced the worst service and witnessed some of the most unprofessional behavior of any airline staff. Sitting in the rear of the plane, we were told that there was no more beef and that we would be eating fish. An Italian woman 3 seats in front of me complained...loudly. The crew first ignored her, then they began to argue with her. This arguing went on for 20 minutes. She was then told that she would not get any food at all. More complaining, more arguing. Soon after it was apparent that the crew was avoiding this lady and those of us sitting in her vicinity. After 3 hours without any drink service, I went back to collect some refreshment. The crew was eating some of the beef dinners that they had denied the Italian woman! I was given some water and then they rudely pulled the curtain on me.

Additionally, one flight attendant falsely accused the Italian woman of hitting her during the arguing. I witnessed the entire fiasco and there was no touching of any sort. The attendant threatened to have the Rome police waiting at the gate for any unruly passengers (looking at the Italian woman.) We all were glad to exit that plane with those crazy Alitalia flight crew.
