Everything was great. Flights were early, staff was awesome and the ride was smooth. All around a great experience. I love AirTran and everyone should fly with them.

Both flights were fine. The choc chip cookies were not as good. On our return to BOS, the pilot made a great landing in windy conditions.

Midwest Airlines is no more, but what about the cookies?

Republic Airlines recently purchased both Midwest Airlines (my hometown airline) and Frontier, branding the new company as Frontier. So our plane was coded Midwest, but the tail had no logo on it. We were a little late getting to the airport, and when I tried to check in on one of the electronic check in machines, it wouldn't accept my credit card. Luckily, there was no one in line for the check in, and I quickly got our tickets. Boarding was pretty easy, even though it was a full flight. The flight was smooth, although it took a bit longer than normal, due to strong easterly winds. Thankfully, Frontier has kept the Midwest Airlines tradition of baking fresh cookies on the plane. They were delicious, if a bit soft and messy. Our plane also featured the Midwest Airlines two-across leather seats, which is much appreciated.

The AirTran gate is in the WORST location at Logan airport

I fly BOS-MKE frequently (5-10 times/year), and have flown this route on Midwest, AirTran, and Delta (flying it on Southwest soon!). My biggest gripe with flying AirTran out of Boston Logan Airport is the isolated terminal with nearly no food options.

AirTran has its own terminal within a terminal at Logan. Located in C terminal, AirTran has its own dedicated TSA check-point. Although this means for a fast walk through security, the small terminal has no food options (only a small, overpriced snack stand). You need to exit security to get to any bars/restaurants.

You pay for what you get with AirTran. You'll be flying on a small, cramped plane with teeny tiny seats and not-so-stellar customer service, but AirTran is often the cheapest airline for this route.
