Even though we arrived an hour and a half before our flight we had to wait so long at the Southwest baggage check with hundreds of other people that we missed our flight. Very slow and inefficient considering the number of customers checking bags at this time of the morning. Needless to say there were quite a few people not only from our flight but other Southwest flights leaving around the same time that didn't make it. Our only option now is standby for the second time. We were told that the only way we could guarantee getting to LA today was to pay an additional $300 per person or come back tomorrow morning.

We didn't even get a snack on a 3.5 hour flight unless we wanted to pay. have to pay to check bags. both kind of disappointing. other than that, easy flight.

I don't usually travel American. I don't like being nickel-and-dimed for everything. This flight was relatively trouble free: it left on time, the leg room was acceptable. The flight attendants, however, stopped just short of rude. Yes. I know they take a lot of abuse. But they don't make things better by taking that out on the rest of us. And if you refuse to regulate problems like people in the back of the plane taking up the overhead spaces in the front as they pass by, then don't bark at the passengers who come after them and find no space for their luggage.

It's been a long, LONG time coming, but Austin finally got a few of the new 737-800's we've been waiting for since 2007. The 2 1/2 hour flight to and from LAX was full in both directions, as usually, but the comfort of this new plane (I've done it in coach and in first) is much improved. Or maybe it's just not having to sit in 10 year old seat cushions pounded to pancake thickness by 280 lb road warriors? Now if we can just get them on the Chicago run - and maybe bring back the Nerd Bird to San Jose?
