Don't fly Delta if you are going overseas! I flew U.S. Airways to Spain the first of July and it was great. I was very satisfied with the legroom and thought airlines must have improved their row spacing. Then I flew Delta to Ireland the end of July and realized all airlines are not equal. It was easy to cross my legs on U.S. Airways but not so easy on Delta. The difference in comfort in the two flights was day and night. Avoid Delta if you want comfort.

After planning a trip to Ireland for over 6 months and buying tickets 4 months in advance, I go to check in online and lo and behold, they have changed equipment in the last 24 hrs. before the flight and we are now seated in the LAST row. No e-mail alert or anything. Calling Skymiles member services helped little--was told to show up more than 2 hours before the flight for a chance to change seating. Waited in line behind a group of 17 who had missed the flight the day before (due to weather)and were also trying to get seats on a now smaller aircraft. Then after we were all boarded, the plane sat at the gate for over 2 hours while a piece of cockpit electronics was swapped out due to international requirements for redundant systems. If Delta knew 24 hours earlier that they were swapping planes, why not get this one ready BEFORE they loaded everyone on? Ended up over 2 hours late in arriving in Dublin.

May I just say, this was one of the most miserable trips I've ever taken, thanks to US Airways. On the transatlantic leg of our flight from Philly to Dublin, water was actually dripping from the ceiling, and dripping heavily. The seating was extremely uncomfortable, and,I believe, narrower than any other airline I've ever flown on. To cap it off, the flight personnel were extremely rude to everyone. Whatever happened to service with a smile? Whatever happened to a pack of peanuts or pretzels? Whatever happened to common courtesy? If the airlines want to increase their bottom line, they better learn to treat their customers better.

Traveling to Dublin, there was no problem with our carry on's. They met the 45 linear inch requirement. They fit in the overhead and every thing was ok. When you Check in at Dublin, if it does not fit Delta's FRAME(PRECISELY 22x14x9), you must check it. The young ladies only answer is, It must fit PRECISELY no exceptions. Watch out, this could be a GOTCHA if you have 2 bags, extra fees ect.
