Your luggage has size limits, your carryone has limits, what about people. I was on a United flight from Chicago to Phoenix and I did pay extra for extra leg room, not because I am tall by any means, but I had a presentation to prepare for and wanted ease when using my computer. I was seated in the middle seat with my husband on the aisle. The man seated next to me was of such size that he was unable to put the armrest down and spread so wide, he took part of my seat. So not only was I not able to move, so no work got done, when I got off the plane every bone in my body ached from the way I was forced to sit. Please don't leave it up to young flight attendents to determine who needs to purchase two seat, use a standard measuring system when you are going through security and have those in uniform tell the people that they cannot fit in one seat!
