World’s Most Instagrammed Cities of 2019
The newest 2019 survey recently released by travel site Hoppa compiled Instagram’s most hash and geo-tagged destinations around the globe to find which city wears the crown. (Hint, it’s a town already known for royalty).
Now that the days of dropping off film to get developed at your local CVS are long gone, put that money toward a plane ticket and filter your feed with real-time trip photos. Whether you’re a wannabe influencer or just looking for some travel inspiration, here are Instagram’s top 10 tagged cities. And some cheap airfare tips to get you there in a snap.
1. London, England
Is that the chimes of Big Ben you hear in the distance? Nope, it's just London ringing in as the number one most Instagrammed city of 2019. When the fog clears, the English capital is ready for its close-up, as nearly 120 million hashtags featuring London have been posted to Instagram this year. As one of the most visited cities in the world, London also seems to be the most photogenic as Insta users load up on likes with images of iconic spots like Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, and Tower Bridge. To double-deck out your feed, fares to London are the lowest we've seen in years and with the Pound Sterling, the lowest its been against the dollar in decades. There's no better time than now to take a trip across the pond.
2. Paris, France
It isn't called the City of Lights from all the camera flashes, but as the second most Instagrammed city worldwide it’s a fitting nom-de-plume for Paris. Fashionable photo shoots are the norm in the French capital, and Instagrammers from all over descend upon this city on the Seine to slay their own stylish snapshots. Travelers can take it to the runway, too. At the moment, Paris is seeing significant price drops on departures from major airports across America.
