Alaska Airlines has just posted an airfare promotion good for travel February, March, and into late April. Flights must be booked by Tuesday, January 21, so if you're planning on traveling during this time window, don't delay as the cheapest rates and best seats sell out first.

Sale fares start at $44 one-way, roundtrip travel is not required. Run your own itinerary's math because fares can be insignificantly cheaper or higher, especially on the return flight.

Travel Availability

The advertised travel period and travel days of the week are listed below. Some routes have low fares outside of these dates and/or for travel on other days of the week.

  • Travel Period: February 4 - April 20.
  • Travel Days of the Week: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays for most routes.
  • Travel to/from Hawaii: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
  • Blackout Dates: February 12 - February 23.

Travel days on international routes and specific domestic markets (like Florida and New Orleans) vary depending on when service is offered and the direction of travel. Click on the fare details below for more booking info.

Sale Period

Tickets must be purchased at least 21 days before departure and by Tuesday, January 21 at 11:59 pm PT.

Sample Fares

All fares are nonstop and also work in the reverse direction.

Boise to Seattle $88 roundtrip

Las Vegas to Los Angeles $98 roundtrip

Seattle to Spokane $98 roundtrip

Salt Lake City to Los Angeles $148 roundtrip

Nashville to Seattle $218 roundtrip

Boston to Los Angeles $238 roundtrip

New York City JFK to Portland PDX $248 roundtrip

Baggage

These fares include one carry-on bag, plus one small personal item. Checked bag fees start at $30 each way.

Seat Assignments

Saver Fares allow for limited seat selection in the back of the aircraft. However, finding seats next to a travel partner may be difficult on some routes. If you choose not to select a seat, one will be assigned to you during check-in.

Alternate Fares

Alaska's Main fares are usually around $10-$35 more each way and include a wider selection of seats to choose from and allow ticket changes/upgrades for a fee. Checked bag fees are the same $30 each way.

Other major airlines that are matching are mostly Basic Economy fares with similar restrictions. The main difference is that United's Basic Economy only includes a small personal item. Southwest does not sell Basic Economy and includes two free checked bags.

A few routes may have lower fares on connecting flights or for travel on ultra-low-cost carriers like Allegiant, Frontier, Spirit, or Sun Country.

Example Booking

As an example, I found seats departing Boise on Wednesday, February 26, returning from Seattle on Saturday, March 7 for just under $93 roundtrip.
