Trivia time! Do you know which country was the very first to elect a female president? If you answered Iceland, you're correct! Vigdis Finnbogadottir held office from 1980 through 1996. In fact, when it comes to gender equality, Iceland is light years ahead of most nations. That holds true at Iceland's WOW Air where 33% of managerial staff and 7% of pilots are women. That 7% may sound pretty small but it's actually above average when compared to other carriers.

With International Women's Day this week, March 8, WOW Air is asking travelers to share their own inspiring stories about themselves or special women who have positively impacted their lives. Stories selected by WOW Air to be reposted will win two free tickets to any WOW Air destination.

To enter, post your story to Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #wowwoman and be sure to @wowair. Posts must be submitted by March 8. You'll find entry details and fine print at wowair.com.
