We've been waiting for this to happen, and it finally has. Alaska Airlines has started its Saver Fares- similar to the Basic Economy fares of other airlines. Their Main Cabin seats have always only allowed one carry-on and one personal item, so that isn't changing, but with the Savers, your seat selection will be limited, you'll be the last to board, you won't be able to change your flight, and you won't get Elite Milage Plan benefits.
