Sun Country is adding two more flights to/from Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW). Starting in February, Sun Country will fly nonstop between Dallas and both Phoenix (PHX) and Palm Springs (PSP) twice per week.

New Nonstop Service to/from Dallas on Sun Country

Both new nonstop routes will start on February 6, 2019, and will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Current fares are slightly lower than the major airlines, but depending on your travel dates, you may still be better off flying American, which has lowered its fares in response to the new service on Sun Country.

These fares are not advertised with an expiration date and are subject to change at any time. You'll find fares on American for $10 more roundtrip.

Dallas to Phoenix $137 roundtrip, nonstop

Phoenix to Dallas $137 roundtrip, nonstop

Dallas to Palm Springs $257 roundtrip, nonstop

Palm Springs to Dallas $257 roundtrip, nonstop

Sun Country's Grab & Go fare only includes one small personal item (small backpack, purse, etc.) up to 17x13x9 inches. Checked bag fees start at $30 each way. Adding a larger, normal sized, carry-on bag starts at $30 each way and includes priority boarding.

In comparison, American's Basic Economy fare includes a standard carry-on bag plus a personal item, with checked bag fees starting at $30 each way.

If you travel with just a personal item or personal item/checked bag, Sun Country is cheaper. If you travel with personal item/carry-on only, American is cheaper.

As an example booking, I found seats departing Dallas DFW on Saturday, February 9, returning from Palm Springs PSP on Wednesday, February 13.
