Yesterday, Southwest extended its booking schedule through August 5, 2019, which means you can now book your summer trip on Southwest. Along with the schedule extension, Southwest has added new flights to/from Nashville and also increased flights on some current routes. Southwest has also added a few other nonstop flights around the country and to the Caribbean.
New Southwest Flights to/from Nashville, California, and Texas
The new service announced yesterday will commence in June 2019. There are a few good intro fares on some of the routes, but since these flights will be introduced for the peak summer travel season, connecting flights for winter/spring travel may still be cheaper.
These fares are not advertised with an expiration date and are subject to change at any time.
New Nonstop service on Southwest Beginning June 9, 2019
Nashville to San Jose, California $398 roundtrip, nonstop (winter flights with a connection for $210 roundtrip)
Returning Weekend (Sat/Sun) Nonstop Service on Southwest Beginning June 15, 2019
Nashville to Seattle $214 roundtrip with a connection for winter travel (Nonstop summer travel is currently much more expensive)
New International Saturday Nonstop Service on Southwest Beginning June 15, 2019
These are the lowest available fares for connecting flights. New nonstop flights are currently much more expensive.
Nashville Routes Getting an Additional Weekday Flight Starting June 10, 2019
These are the current lowest available fares, which are mostly for winter/spring travel.
All domestic fares work in the reverse direction as well. Southwest has the advantage of two free checked bags and no change fees. For more tips on flying Southwest, read our guide on How to Fly Southwest (And Get the Seat You Want).
As an example booking, I found seats departing Burbank BUR on Wednesday, June 12, returning from Nashville BNA on Tuesday, June 18, for $218 roundtrip. These flights would allow you to attend the Bonnaroo Music Festival, which takes place June 13-16, 2019.
