If you are interested in any of these fares, we recommend you book soon to avoid a missed bargain. All domestic fares work in the reverse direction as well.

Here's a great fare to escape the tundra this winter. Fly nonstop from Minneapolis to Los Angeles for $171 roundtrip on Delta. This great fare on Delta can be found for travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, from November through early March, excluding holiday travel. There are a few lower fares on Spirit and Sun Country, but those airlines only include a small personal item. Delta's fare includes a normal carry-on bag plus a personal item. I found seats on Delta departing Minneapolis MSP on Saturday, January 12, returning from Los Angeles LAX on Saturday, January 19.

Detroit - Chicago $176 Roundtrip for Peak Thanksgiving Travel
Still looking for a cheap flight for Thanksgiving? Nonstop flights for peak Thanksgiving travel from Detroit to Chicago are only $176 roundtrip on Southwest. This is only slightly higher than the lowest available year-round travel price on this route. This price will not be available on every single date throughout the year and peak holiday travel prices will be higher. I was able to find this price by selecting the "Ambassadors 70% off" promo code on Volaris.com, departing Los Angeles LAX on Friday, March 15, returning from San Jose SJO on Sunday, March, 24.
This price is also available from New York (JFK) and Washington D.C. (IAD). It includes two full-size carry-on bags with a max combined weight of 22 lbs. Most routes are only available on a few last minute travel dates in late October and early November. Icelandair has some really great deals to Europe in its latest sale. Included in this sale, fly from Chicago to Amsterdam for $329 roundtrip. Travel is valid from mid-January through mid-April. A Saturday night stay is required and you may stay up to 30 days from the date of departure. I found seats departing Chicago ORD on Thursday, March 28, returning from Amsterdam AMS on Thursday, April 4.
This is an Economy Light fare, which includes seat selection and a standard sized carry-on bag plus a personal item. Checked bag fees apply so if you need to check a bag, purchase the standard Economy fare for $100 more roundtrip. If desired, you can book a stopover in Iceland up to 3 days on the Economy Light fare or up to 7 days on a standard Economy fare.
