How to Use Airfarewatchdog

Airfarewatchdog.com is the only airfare listing and alert site and app that includes all airlines, even Southwest and Allegiant, and even promo code airfares, which can only be booked on airline websites. Our airfare deals are chosen by airfare experts, many of whom have been with us for 10 years or more and have extensive experience working for airlines and travel agencies.

Here’s how to get the most out of our free service.

Email alerts

When signing up for our airfare alerts, there are three basic options.

“City to city” alerts: let’s say you’re only interested in fare alerts from New York to LA. You can sign up just for that route; in fact, you can sign up for as many as 20 different routes. You’ll only be notified when we think the fare is a good deal or it’s gone down in price.

“Departure City” Alerts:  This will show you all airfares from airport(s) you choose: if you’d like to scan all the fares we’ve found from, say, LA, this is your best bet. You will also see fares from nearby airports automatically (Sign up for Los Angeles LAX and you’ll have the opportunity to scan fares from Burbank, Ontario, Long Beach and Santa Ana). We recommend daily emails because fares change all the time, but you can also opt for once a week or 2-3 times per week.

“Arrival City” Alerts: Is it cheaper to fly to Honolulu from Dallas vs. Houston, or Hartford vs. Boston? These alerts will show you all of our fares to Honolulu or wherever you choose. It’s especially helpful if you’re planning a conference, wedding or other event where many people will be flying to the same location from scattered cities, or for planning “positioning” flights (flying on a separate flight to a city from which it’s cheaper to fly onward to your desired destination).

For example, this would show you all fares arriving to Dallas:

Airline preferences: Under the preferences tab you can eliminate any and all airlines you’d prefer not to fly. If you only fly Delta, for example, eliminate all the other airlines. Hate Spirit? Eliminate it.
