From the majestic fjords of Scandinavia to the medieval castles of Central Europe, SAS Scandinavian Airlines can fly you to several European cities this winter or spring for an affordable price. Tickets have been marked down to the airline's hubs in Copenhagen (CPH), Stockholm (ARN), Oslo (OSL), and beyond with flights across Europe as low as $283 roundtrip.

Save even more if you travel with a checked bag. Scandinavian Airlines sells a fare that includes one free checked bag for about $55 more roundtrip than the lowest available hand-luggage only fare. Compare that with the $120-$160 extra that other major carriers usually charge for a standard Economy fare, and you'll save big if you prefer to purchase a classic Economy ticket.

Travel Availability

  • Travel Period: January 8 - May 15, 2020. Depart the U.S. by the end of March for the lowest fares. Departures in April and May are roughly $50 more. Boston service begins at the end of March.
  • Travel Days: Daily, but will vary by city-to-city pair.
  • Blackout Dates: None listed
  • Minimum Stay: A Saturday night stay is required.

Departure days will vary by city pair as SAS doesn't operate every route on a daily basis. Itineraries from Boston are only available from March 29, 2020, onward. Flights from Miami are operated on limited days of the week through mid-April.

A few of the connecting flights listed may require an overnight layover in Scandinavia. This can be a bonus opportunity to visit another city in Europe before flying back to the U.S., and it can potentially save hundreds of dollars as well. Click on the fare details below for more booking info.

This sale is unadvertised and fares may jump at any moment. These are all big price drops, which normally don't last very long after falling this low. Secure your low fare by booking now and taking advantage of the 24-hour risk-free cancellation to think about your plans.

Sample Fares

Update: It looks like fares from LAX have went up $100 on each route since the original posting, which are still fantastic deals. Prices on other routes seem to be sticking around for now, but seats are selling out quickly.

These prices are for SAS Go Light fares, which only include a carry-on bag (up to 18 lbs.) plus a small personal item. Checked bag fees for Go Light fares are $60 each way. If you need to check a bag, it's much cheaper to purchase the next level Go Smart fare for around $28 more each way ($55 roundtrip). Go Smart fares include one free checked bag.

Seat Assignments

You may choose your own assignments from standard economy class seats that are still available during or after booking. Both Go Light and Go Smart fares have limited free seat selection in the back of the plane.

Alternate Fares

Go Smart fares will cost an extra $55 roundtrip and will include one free checked bag. This is a much cheaper option than adding a checked bag to the Go Light fare à la carte.

There are several destinations in Scandinavia on sale. Search for some super deals to places like Helsinki (HEL)Bergen (BGO), Aarhus (AAR), Gothenburg (GOT), and more. Flights to other destinations throughout Europe are also on sale by SAS, but you may find connections to European destinations outside Scandinavia to require an overnight layover on the return flight.

If you want to visit multiple destinations in Europe, this sale can be an excellent opportunity to book an open-jaw itinerary by flying into one city and back from another, since it's such a widespread deal covering several European airports.
