  • Travel Days of the Week: Varies by route, mostly midweek travel.
  • Blackout Dates: December 13, 2019 - January 5, 2020.

A minimum stay of 3-nights is generally required. Some routes may only have availability starting in mid-October. Most have good availability and are easy to find, but some may have limited availability at these prices.

Baggage

Icelandair's Economy Light fares only include a standard-sized carry-on bag plus one personal item. Checked bag fees are $76 each way when purchased online. If you need to check bags, it's cheaper to buy an Economy Standard fare (+$120 USD), which includes one free checked bag.

You may choose your own assignments from standard economy class seats that are still available at no extra charge.

Free Stopover in Iceland

You can book a free stopover in Iceland for up to 3 days on the Economy Light fare. Extra taxes and separate bag fees may apply. If you want to stay longer in Iceland, the Economy Standard fare allows stopovers up to 7 days.

Alternate Fares

The upgrade to standard Economy costs an extra $120. This includes one free checked bag and allows stopovers up to 7 days.

Other airlines such as SAS, Norwegian, and TAP Air Portugal may offer better prices in some markets, and there may be nonstop options on other major carriers. Choose the airline according to your needs. Icelandair may have better routing and allows for free stopovers in Iceland if that is something that interests you.
