We're seeing some nice price drops on flights to Hawaii today. Along with some usual deals from West Coast cities to Hawaii, there are some amazing fares from Atlanta (ATL), Minneapolis (MSP), and from across Canada. Flights to Hawaii start from $290 roundtrip.
Update 11:45 am ET, July 9, 2019: Cheap flights from Atlanta and Minneapolis to Hawaii have sold out. Prices went up about $200. Sign up for fare alerts to know when prices drop again. Other routes listed below are still available as of this morning.
Most fares include a carry-on bag plus a personal item. United's Basic Economy fares only include a small personal item and do not allow a full-size carry-on bag. A checked bag is $30 each way on all fares.
This varies by route. Some routes on American and United book into the regular economy fare bucket and will include standard seat selection. For Basic Economy fares, seats will be assigned at random upon check-in or you may be able to pay a fee to choose a specific seat.
Most Basic Economy fares can be upgraded to a standard Economy for an extra $80-$90 roundtrip. which includes a full-size carry-on bag, standard advanced seat selection, and allows ticket changes/upgrades for a fee. The first checked bag fee is the same $30 each way. Some of the lowest fares on American and United are indeed a regular economy fare already.
As an example, I found seats departing Minneapolis MSP on Thursday, November 7, returning from Honolulu HNL on Thursday, November 14, for $403 roundtrip.
