For a complete list of deals to Hawaii, have a look at all of our fares to Honolulu (HNL), Maui (OGG), Kauai (LIH), and Kona (KOA).

Baggage

Most fares include a carry-on bag plus a personal item. United's Basic Economy fares only include a small personal item and do not allow a full-size carry-on bag. A checked bag is $30 each way on all fares.

Seat Selection

This varies by route. Some routes on American and United book into the regular economy fare bucket and will include standard seat selection. For Basic Economy fares, seats will be assigned at random upon check-in or you may be able to pay a fee to choose a specific seat.

Alternate Fares

Most Basic Economy fares can be upgraded to a standard Economy for an extra $80-$90 roundtrip. which includes a full-size carry-on bag, standard advanced seat selection, and allows ticket changes/upgrades for a fee. The first checked bag fee is the same $30 each way. Some of the lowest fares on American and United are indeed a regular economy fare already.

Example Booking

As an example, I found seats departing Minneapolis MSP on Thursday, November 7, returning from Honolulu HNL on Thursday, November 14, for $403 roundtrip.
