Welcome back to another start of the workweek. You’ve got a whole week ahead of you to daydream about getting out of the office and on vacation. We’re here to help this Monday with some airfare picks to make it a reality. Following is a list of the top 10 fares that we deal hounds have sniffed-out so far today.
Today’s Top Fare Deals
These selections of top fares are all at prices below what we regularly see for that specific city pairing and destination. Some are part of ongoing sales, and some are unadvertised price drops that may only last for a limited time. If you're interested in any of these handpicked deals, we recommend you book ASAP to avoid missing out on a bargain buy.
With Southwest only operating flights from the West Coast, you might think fares from the East Coast would still remain high. Luckily that's not the case as we're seeing some fantastic deals from airports on the Atlantic side. Here's a great fare to Maui from New York-JFK for $517 roundtrip on American this spring. Flights are available departing Monday through Thursdays in late April through the middle of May. Other airlines are matching, but at a few dollars more, fall flights can be purchased on Delta for around $533 roundtrip if your looking to travel different parts of the year. For a sample itinerary, I found tickets at this price departing JFK on Thursday, May 2 with a return from OGG available on Monday, May 13, 2019.
Fly nonstop from Los Angeles to London for $460 roundtrip this November. There is a lot of competition on this busy route, but Air New Zealand comes out on top. With multiple airlines price matching between these two major airports you’ll see lots of travel options, but what you might not notice is that all the others are in basic economy while Air New Zealand’s rate still includes a free checked bag and seat selection. Fares have sold out quickly in other months, but there is still some availability in November and early December. I found seats at this price departing LAX on Wednesday, November 20 and returning from LAX on Wednesday, November 27, 2019.
In case you missed our post last week on great Central and South America fares from Interjet, you’re still in luck as these unadvertised deals have stuck around over the weekend. Take this fare as an example, fly from Houston-IAH to Lima, Peru for only $260 roundtrip this fall. Flights are available any day of the week starting in late October through November on this route. Seats are selling out rapidly so get a jump on it as travel days are disappearing from the calendar quickly. I was able to find an itinerary at this price departing IAH on Monday, October 21, with a return leg from LIM leaving on Wednesday, October 30, 2019. One free checked bag included in addition to standard carry-on limits!
Fly nonstop from Boston to Charleston for $117 roundtrip and enjoy some southern charm this summer on JetBlue. It's rare to see a price this low on this route that includes peak summer travel, but there is still lots of availability on select dates in June and August. A few dates might be open in July, but they're starting to sell out quickly. Get a jump on this deal before all the seats are sold! I was able to find tickets at this price from BOS on Sunday, August 18, and returning from CHS on Thursday, August 22, 2019. Travel days will vary by week, as inventory is sparse.
Anytime we see a roundtrip nonstop fare coast-to-coast under the two hundred dollar mark that usually qualifies as a great deal. Take this one for instance, fly from Baltimore to Los Angeles for $199 roundtrip on Alaska or United Airlines. Personally, I’d go with Alaska, as their baggage policy isn't as strict as United's, but depending on your travel date you'll have to see which airline fits your needs. Travel is available on scattered dates in the spring, late summer, and fall. Depending on the week travel could be valid any day of the week but in other weeks it’s limited to Tuesday and Wednesday travel. Searching on Alaska, I found seats departing BWI on Sunday, September 1 and returning from LAX on Saturday, September 9, 2019. September seems to have the largest amount of inventory for this fare.
Bay area fog got you in a funk? How about heading to South America for a sunny getaway. Fly from San Francisco to Quito, Ecuador for $394 roundtrip on Copa Airlines this spring, late summer, and fall. This deal has a pretty large travel window starting May through mid-June then again from September onward with departures valid any day of the week. As an example, I found tickets at this price departing SFO on Saturday, May 18 and returning from UIO on Thursday, May 23, 2019. Long layovers in Panama City (PTY) may be required on select itineraries. One free checked bag included each way.
Five-star Hainan Airlines is offering nonstop flights from Chicago to Beijing for $490 roundtrip for fall travel. Inventory at this price opens up in October; however, other dates are available in spring and late summer for only $503 roundtrip. Booking with Hainan directly is the best way to find this fare as other sites are displaying this fare at a higher rate. Searching Hainan's website, I was able to find seats departing ORD on Saturday, October 12 and returning from PEK on Sunday, October 20, 2019
Sink your jaws into this summer deal! Fly nonstop from Washington DC-National to Nantucket, Massachusetts for $149 roundtrip. Both American and JetBlue are price matching on this route with departures available on Sunday and returns flights open on Friday and Saturdays. Most August dates are sold out at this price, so you’ll have the best luck finding itineraries at this price point in June, July and late September. For example, I found this price for flights departing DCA on Sunday, July 7, and returning from ACK on Friday, July 12, 2019. Purchasing two separate one-way tickets split between the two airlines might be the key for you to find the dates that work best for your summer holiday.
Fly nonstop from Ft. Lauderdale to Nassau, Bahamas for $229 roundtrip on Southwest this spring. This is one of Southwest’s better international routes as cheap nonstop options to Nassau are quite limited. To take advantage of this fare deal, you'll have to depart from April through mid-May then again from September onward. Daily flights are available so you can turn this deal into an impromptu weekend getaway, by leaving FLL on Friday, April 26 and returning from NAS on Monday, April 29, 2019.
Fly from Cincinnati to Phoenix for $144 roundtrip on either American or United Airlines this spring or fall. Flights are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and select Saturdays through mid-May then again from late August through November. United still has stringent carry-on rules, so it's best to book with American if you want to bring on board a regular sized carry-on item. Using Google Flights, I found seats departing CVG on Wednesday, September 4 and returning from PHX on Wednesday, September 11, 2019.
