Following months and months of teasing, not to mention the additional delay caused by the longest government shutdown in U.S. history, Southwest fares to Hawaii are officially on sale. And, at $98 roundtrip, these fares certainly seem worth the wait.

Currently, the fares we're seeing at Southwest.com don't appear to be part of any official intro sale, though it could be the sale details have yet to be posted. In any case, these fares are now bookable, and very cheap.

For now, service includes Oahu, Maui, and Kona, though Lihue is expected to follow. Nonstop service is available from Oakland and San Jose only, with connections available from other cities. Interisland flights start at just $58 roundtrip.

No telling how long these intro fares will stick around so better grab 'em while they last.

Please note, these fares are only available on Southwest.com. Will other carriers scramble to match these fares? Stay tuned.
