Set off to see the big five on a five-star airline. Qatar Airways is offering a 48-hour sale, and one of the top fares in the bunch is from Houston-IAH to Johannesburg, South Africa for $689 roundtrip.
Searching on Qatar's site, I found seats departing IAH on Tuesday, September 17, returning from JNB on Sunday, September 29, 2019. Take note that on outbound flights there is an extended daytime stopover in Doha (DOH) in which Qatar offers city tours at low prices. Some layovers may even qualify for a free hotel stay, so make the best of it and treat it as a 2-for-1 deal!
Tickets are available Sunday through Thursday for departures starting in late March through early December. Peak summer travel between late June and early August is blacked out and a 7-day minimum stay is required.
