Earlier this month Volaris had a similar sale for January travel. This flash sale is for February travel with nonstop flights to Central America as low as $39 one-way. Flights to Mexico are the same price, but after adding a mandatory non-resident fee, one-way fares to Mexico start at $67. Cheap return flights are available on many routes with roundtrip fares starting at $117 $139. Over 50 routes from the US to Mexico/Central America are on sale.

Update 8:45 am CT, October 25: The lowest roundtrip fares to Central America have all sold out. Most of the cheapest fares to Mexico are still available, but these fares are going fast.

Volaris is a low-cost Mexican airline, which has a baggage policy that is similar to the major US airlines. Surprisingly, you are allowed to bring two full-size carry-on bags, but there is a weight limit of 22 lbs total between these two bags. If you think your carry-on bags look heavy enough to actually get weighed at the airport, you can purchase extra weight allowance for your carry-on bags starting at $24 each way. Checked bag fees start at $35 each way.

Travel is valid on select dates from February 1 through February 28, 2019. This is an advertised sale, but seats are selling out quickly and these prices may not last. Book now for a super cheap flight to Mexico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, or Guatemala.

The sale officially ends at 11:59 pm CT, on October 25, 2018.

Many routes are only operated on limited days each week and/or have only a few dates available at these prices. You may have to adjust your travel dates to find flights. Click on the fare details for specifics.

All of these routes (and a few others) have $39 one-way flights to Central America on a few scattered dates in February. One-way flights to Mexico are $67-$72 for non-residents or $39 if you are a Mexican passport holder. Return flights are priced slightly higher to get these roundtrip prices (including non-resident fee). You must be flexible with travel dates to get these prices.

Flights within Mexico are also on sale for $199 MXN pesos (~$10.50 USD) one-way, which could allow you to combine a few one-way flights and see a few different cities in Mexico at these ultra-low fares.

These roundtrip prices include the $28 USD non-resident fee. Price will be about $28 less for Mexican passport holders or others exempt from this fee. Keep in mind that Central American countries may require you to pay a departure tax before departing from Central America back to the US. This is a government policy and is the same among all airlines. Mexico's departure tax is included in the price of the ticket.

As an example booking, I found seats departing New York JFK on Wednesday, February 6, returning from San Jose SJO on Sunday, February 10, for $142 roundtrip.
