Departures are available any day of the week, but there are scattered periods of blackout dates, so you'll have to play around and see what dates work best for you. If you're flexible with travel dates, you can find trips at this price that fall over the festival of Songkran which is April 13-15 in 2019. This festival for Thai New Year is known as the biggest water fight in the world, and along with all the splashing, there are religious ceremonies and other festivities all across the country.
For example, I found tickets overlapping the Songkran festival departing Los Angeles LAX on Wednesday, April 10, returning from Bangkok BKK on Friday, April 19, 2019. Flights connection times are minimal, so no super long layovers on these fares! Air China tends to be mostly available in the fall, whereas China Eastern Airlines has most of the availability in 2019.
