SkyTeam member, Xiamen Airlines always seem to have some great prices, but the hitch with them is so many of their fares require absurdly long layover times or overnights. Luckily for this fare, you can avoid most of those long stays if you depart on select days of the week from late October through mid-December. If you do wish to spend some time on your layover in Xiamen of Fuzhou, the airline does offer free accommodation for layover times ranging from 6-24 hours.

Your best option for booking is through third-party sites as they are around $100 cheaper than purchasing via the Xiamen website. As an example on Orbitz, I found seats departing LAX on Tuesday, November 13, and returning from KUL on Thursday, November 22, 2018. Your best options for departures are on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
