These deals are all at prices below what we normally see. Some of these fares are a part of ongoing sales and some are unadvertised, which may only last a few hours. If you are interested in any of these fares, we recommend you book soon to avoid a missed bargain. All domestic flights also work in the reverse direction.
Chicago - Long Island-Islip $29 Roundtrip for Summer/Fall Travel
Fly for just a penny each way plus taxes with this week's Frontier sale. Nonstop flights from Chicago to Long Island-Islip add up to only $29 roundtrip. Frontier flies daily nonstops in August, but you'll have to be flexible with travel dates to find this price. Starting in September, Frontier will only fly Sundays and Tuesdays. In October, flights will switch to Mondays and Wednesdays. I found this rock bottom fare available departing Chicago ORD on Tuesday, September 18, returning from Long Island ISP on Sunday, September 23. Frontier only includes a small personal item for this price. Checked bags start at $25 each way. Larger carry-on bag fees start at $30 each way.

Detroit - Los Angeles $128 Roundtrip for Summer/Fall/Winter Travel
Here is an excellent price to fly across the country. Fly from Detroit to Los Angeles for $128 roundtrip on United. Travel is valid daily through early March with a 14-day advance purchase required. Peak holiday travel is blacked out, but if you don't mind flying on the holidays, I found seats available departing Detroit DTW on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, returning from Los Angeles LAX on Tuesday, November 27. This is basic economy and only includes a small personal item. If you need more carry-on luggage, pay for the regular economy fare, which is only $32 more roundtrip.

Boston - Fort Lauderdale $167 Roundtrip for Year-Round Travel
Fly nonstop from Boston to Fort Lauderdale for $167 roundtrip on JetBlue or Delta. Travel is valid daily throughout the year, but you'll have an easier time finding this price for mid-week travel after the fall. I found seats on Delta for a weekend trip departing Boston BOS on Friday, September 21, returning from Fort Lauderdale FLL on Sunday, September 23.

Atlanta - San Jose $217 Roundtrip for Summer/Fall/Winter Travel
A great fare for nonstop travel from Georgia to the Bay Area. Fly nonstop from Atlanta to San Jose for $217 roundtrip on Delta. Travel is valid on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, from late August through mid-February. A Friday or Saturday night stay is required. I was able to find seats over Labor Day Weekend departing Atlanta ATL on Saturday, September 1, returning from San Jose SJC on Tuesday, September 4.

Philadelphia - London and Reykjavik $275 Roundtrip for Fall Travel
Visit two European cities for under $300. Fly on Icelandair from Philadelphia to London for $275 roundtrip, with an overnight stop in Reykjavik on the return flight. Travel is valid on just a few dates in late November and early December. Travel to London on Sundays and from London on Wednesdays. You may need to do a multi-city search to find this fare. For example, I found seats departing Philadelphia PHL to London LHR on Sunday, November 25, then flying from London LHR to Reykjavik KEF, on Wednesday, December 5, returning from Reykjavik KEF to Philadelphia PHL on Thursday, December 6. This is Icelandair's Economy Light fare, which only includes carry-on bags. Consider the higher regular Economy fare if you need checked bags or would like a longer stopover in Iceland.
