Weekend Travel Deals Are Now Easier to Find

Do you get frustrated when the deals you see are only available for mid-week travel?

You're not alone. A recent survey of Airfarewatchdog users revealed that 57% would prefer to take multiple long weekend trips instead of one long vacation over the course of a year.

With that in mind, we've made it easier to search for the best available deals on the days you can actually travel.

Find Weekend Travel Deals

Sure, traveling on Tuesdays and Wednesdays will usually be cheaper than flying from Friday to Sunday, but if this means you have to take extra days off of work, it may not be worth the savings. If you simply want to get away for a weekend trip, there's a new way to find airfare and hotel deals.

We've been hard at work creating an easy way to search only for weekend travel deals. The Weekender allows you to enter your departure city and will generate weekend flight and hotel deals to nearby popular destinations, maximizing your time in that destination. If you have somewhere particular in mind, you can enter specific routes as well.

How does it work? Search for 2-4 day trips for upcoming weekends, departing Thursday or Friday, and returning Sunday or Monday. This means you'll likely only have to take one day off of work to enjoy a long weekend away from home. Of course, the more flexible you are with travel dates, the better prices you'll find. The Weekender focuses on shorter flights with one stop or less, but you can enter any city you like to check weekend deals.

This new tool will find all the best deals, including unadvertised sales. Delta often releases an advertised weekend travel sale, but those fares aren't always the best deals around. We often spot better prices for last minute or upcoming weekend travel that the airlines don't advertise.

Don't feel like flying? No worries! You can easily choose to search hotel only deals if you want to take a quick road trip and are just looking for a place to stay.

Staying with friends or family? Likewise, you can turn off the hotel finder and choose to search only for flight deals.

If you're looking for combination of airfare and hotel deals, select both, and you'll get a better picture of the total cost of your weekend getaway. Once you've found a deal your interested in, just click on "explore deals", and you'll be given direct links to book both your flight and hotel. Have a look and see what kind of deals are out there for your weekend travel plans.
