It’s really easy to use a travel rewards credit card to earn lots of points and miles while you travel. These cards offer fantastic bonuses for airfare, hotel, and rental car purchases. But it can be a bit more challenging to rake in the rewards for your spending at home. Nevertheless, there are still some travel rewards cards that can offer you impressive bonuses for your everyday spending. Let’s take a look at the cards that reward you around town:

Top Grocery Rewards

The Amex EveryDay Credit Card from American Express: This card offers you 2x points on up to $6,000 spent each year at U.S. supermarkets (then 1x), and 1x dollar spent elsewhere. You can also receive a 20% bonus on the points earned during each billing period when you make 20 or more purchases. New applicants also earn 10,000 bonus points after making $1,000 in new purchases within three months of account opening. There’s no annual fee for this card.

Blue Cash Preferred Card from American Express: While it offers cash back instead of travel rewards, this card is exceptionally generous when purchasing groceries and gas. You earn 6% cash back on up to $6,000 spent each calendar year at U.S. supermarkets (then 1%), and unlimited 3% cash back at U.S. gas stations and at select U.S. department stores. New accounts receive a $200 statement credit after spending $1,000 on purchases within 3 months (see rates and fees).

Top Restaurant Rewards

Chase Sapphire Preferred Card: This card offers double points on all restaurant and travel expenses, and one point per dollar spent elsewhere.  New accounts can earn 60,000 bonus points after spending $4,000 within three months of account opening. The $95 annual fee for this card is waived the first year.

United Explorer Card: This airline card now offers double miles at restaurants as well as on United purchases. It also includes a Global Entry or TSA PreCheck fee credit of up to $100 and 25% off your in-flight purchases. When traveling, you enjoy priority boarding, a free checked bag and two one-time United Club passes each account year. The $95 annual fee for this card is waived the first year.

Top Gas Rewards

Citi / AAdvantage Platinum Select World Elite Mastercard: This card now offers double miles on gas and restaurant purchases, as well as American Airline purchases.
