Frontier is back with another round of $39 roundtrip fares. Since Memphis has a slightly lower departure tax, you can fly from Memphis to Orlando for just $34 roundtrip. For this route, travel is valid on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, starting in mid-August through early September. For example, I found seats departing Memphis MEM on Wednesday, August 15, returning from Orlando MCO on Monday, August 20. Keep in mind, Frontier charges extra for any bag larger than a small personal item. Checked bag fees for this time period start at $30 each way. Larger carry-on bag fees start at $35 each way. Sale ends at 11:59 pm ET, on July 4th.
Fly nonstop from Philadelphia to Charleston for $67 roundtrip on American. Travel is valid on just a few dates in late October and early November. For example, I found seats departing Philadelphia PHL on Tuesday, October 30, returning from Charleston CHS on Monday, November 5. This price is for Basic Economy, which only includes a small personal item. Checked bag fees are $25 each way. Alternatively, purchase a Main Cabin fare for $117 roundtrip, which includes a carry-on bag plus personal item.
Fly from Chicago to Key West for $126 roundtrip on American. Travel is valid on scattered dates from September through early February, excluding peak holiday periods. Some itineraries may require two stops or a long layover on the return flight and seats are easier to find in January 2019. I was able to find seats departing Chicago ORD on Saturday, January 26, returning from Key West EYW on Saturday, February 2. This price is for Basic Economy, which only includes a small personal item. Checked bag fees are $25 each way. Alternatively, purchase a Main Cabin fare for $176 roundtrip, which includes a carry-on bag plus personal item.
Fly from Dallas to Richmond for $126 roundtrip on United. Travel is valid on a few dates this week and again from late August through mid-November. For example, I found seats departing Dallas DFW on Saturday, August 25, returning from Richmond RIC on Tuesday, August 28. Only a small personal item is included in this Basic Economy fare. However, the regular economy fare is much higher so if you can handle getting a random seat assignment, I would suggest to buy Basic Economy and pay $25 each way for a checked bag, if necesarry.
Fly from Portland, Oregon to Palm Springs for $156 roundtrip on Delta or United. Travel is valid year-round, with a 14-day advance purchase required. You'll have the best luck finding seats for southbound travel earlier in the week and northbound travel later in the week. Peak holiday travel periods are blacked out. I was able to find seats on Delta, departing Portland PDX on Saturday, December 1, returning from Palm Springs PSP on Tuesday, December 4. These are Basic Economy, but Delta will include a regular carry-on bag plus a personal item. United only includes a small personal item, but has better availability. If you want to fly nonstop, you can try Sun Country's new service on Sundays or Thursdays, starting November 1, for $167 roundtrip. Checked bag fees are $20 each way on Sun Country. Larger carry-on bag fees start at $25 each way.
If you're not over the heartbreaking loss to Brazil in the World Cup, you can book a nonstop trip from Los Angeles to Mexico City for $212 roundtrip to brighten your day. Fly on either Delta, Aeromexico, United, or American, from late August through mid-November. I was able to find seats departing Los Angeles LAX on Friday, September 14, returning from Mexico City MEX on Sunday, September 23. Perfect for a week long trip over Mexican Independence Day. You can pay even less by booking two separate one-way fares and paying in pesos with a no foreign transaction fee credit card.
WOW air has a 20% off promo code sale valid for purchase through 6pm ET, on July 8. Included in this sale, fly nonstop from St. Louis to Reykjavik for $243 roundtrip. The promo code WOW4JULY will take 20% off the base fare for travel through September 30. I was able to find seats for this price using the promo code on wowair.com, departing St. Louis STL on Monday, August 20, returning from Reykjavik KEF on Saturday, August 25. WOW basic fares only include a small personal item. Carry-on bag fees for this route start at $40 each way. Checked bag fees start at $50 each way.

Icelandair still has plenty of stellar deals out there. Fly from San Francisco to Paris for $365 roundtrip this fall, winter, or early next spring. Travel is valid from November through early April, excluding peak holiday travel periods. Book a free stopover in Iceland if you'd like to stay up to 3 days. This Economy Light fare only includes carry-on luggage. Checked bag fees are a hefty $76 each way, so you may want to consider the standard economy fare or other airlines if you need checked bags.
Fly from Washington DC to Iguazu Falls, Brazil for $529 roundtrip on Avianca. Although this incredible fare has come and gone for a while, many other routes to Brazil have dropped in price recently. The Iguazu Falls are just as impressive as Niagara Falls, if not more so. You'll also be at the border of both Argentina and Paraguay if you'd like to visit a few other countries while down in South America. Travel is valid from mid-August through mid-December, and again from late April through early June 2019. For example, I found seats departing Washington DC on Saturday, August 25, returning from Iguazu Falls IGU on Friday, September 7.
