If you missed out on the promo code sale from Volaris yesterday, you're still in luck. Both Interjet and Volaris have up to 70% off promo code sales valid for purchase through Friday, March 16, 2018.
Interjet and Volaris have both expanded across North America recently and competition is heating up for travel to Mexico and Central America. Both airlines have a similar baggage policy, which includes a total of 22 lbs. in two carry-on bags on their lowest fares. Where they differ is in seat pitch. Interjet provides a generous seat pitch up to 34", which is comparable to JetBlue. Volaris has a cramped seat pitch around 29", which is comparable to Spirit. Overall, Interjet remains a better reviewed airline than Volaris, but costs for extras are quite similar and their baggage polcies are both similar to the major airlines.
For the Interjet promo, you just need to book on Interjet.com and it will automatically apply the discount when searching for travel through October 2018. They also have a separate promo, which includes one free checked bag on certain routes for travel through April. For the Volaris promo, you'll need to select the "Up to 70% off" promo or just enter promo code VUELA7 when booking on Volaris.com for travel through October 2019.
Update March 15, 2018: It looks like Volaris has increased their promo code offer to "up to 80% off" so you may be able to find even lower fares than what we've listed by using promo code VUELA8 on Volaris.com.
