Home Fares To A City Las Vegas (LAS)

Flying Into Las Vegas

Fliers arriving in Las Vegas will touchdown at McCarran International Airport (LAS). Conveniently located five miles south of downtown Las Vegas, visitors can reach the center of Vegas “The Strip” in only 10-15 minute taxi ride. Las Vegas McCarran Airport is comprised of two passenger terminals: Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 (Terminal 2 was demolished in 2016), which handle roughly 48 million passengers annually.

Las Vegas McCarron Airport is the hometown airport for low-cost and charter carrier Allegiant Air who offer over 700 scheduled flights monthly from LAS. McCarran also serves as a focus airport for carriers Southwest, Frontier, and Spirit airlines; who often list rock-bottom fares to this leisure destination. While Las Vegas has nonstop options to many destinations in Asia and Europe, most of its international traffic comes from Canada and Mexico.

Once stepping off your plane at McCarron Airport you'll be greeted with the sounds of slot machines chiming all around on your way to the luggage carousel or exit. After exiting the airport there are only a couple of options for reaching downtown Vegas, a rental car, taxi or ridesharing provider, and as the only public transit option travelers can use the RTC bus service.

Getting Around Las Vegas

The best method to make your way around Las Vegas is to walk. Most major hotels and sites that the average traveler to Vegas will want to see are located on the four-mile-long "Strip."

If the heat is too much or you are tired of walking, taxis and ridesharing companies like Uber and Lyft are readily available. A monorail service runs alongside The Strip with multiple stops at major hotels and casinos along the way. The RTC also provides bus service and bike sharing program for those looking for cost-effective public transportation options.

Things to Do in Las Vegas

It isn't nicknamed Sin City for nothing, whatever your vice is - Vegas has you covered. From gambling to shows to all-you-can-eat buffets and top-notch nightlife you don't have to be a high roller to take advantage of what The Entertainment Capital of the World has to offer.

While casinos are the huge draw to Vegas, there is a myriad of other entertainment options the city is known for. For sports fans, Las Vegas hosts some of the most star-studded boxing and MMA title matches in the world and is now home to the NHL's newest hockey team the Vegas Golden Knights.

Those looking for a show can choose from aerial acrobatics from Cirque du Soleil, comedy and tricks from the longest running magic show in town, Penn & Teller, or hear pop classics from best selling vocalist Celine Dion.

Shoppers whisk themselves back to Roman times at The Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace, where high-end shops are surrounded by faux-ancient architecture. If you've lost your shirt betting at the blackjack table, head to one of the Las Vegas Premium Outlets, situated on the North or South side of the city to find discount deals on popular name brands.

Las Vegas nightlife is legendary, so if you are in the partying mood you can catch world famous DJs or other musical acts at trendy hotspots like Omnia, 1 OAK, and Drai's Nightclub - if you can make it past the velvet ropes.

Foodies can have their cake and eat it too at Vegas's world-renowned restaurants. Visitors are spoiled with an abundance of fantastic food for every budget. From affordable all-you-can-eat buffets like Studio B Show Kitchen to Michelin star rated Joel Robuchon at the MGM Grand, Vegas will satisfy any appetite.

What to Know About Las Vegas

Las Vegas is Spanish for “The Meadows” however you won't see much of those anymore as the city is surrounded by desert and full of neon lights. Situated in the Mojave Desert, the climate of Vegas in one word is: hot. Temperatures in summer often break the 100-degree mark, and Vegas is one of the sunniest and driest locations in North America. The city's population hovers just over 600,000 annual residents, but as a leisure and resort destination, Vegas attracts roughly 40 million tourists a year, making it one of the most popular vacation spots in the United States.
